Wetsuits.
Wetsuits can be worn in all Epic events. Swimming New Zealand would like to thank the Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board for providing access to Lake Taupo. Please help us protect the future of Lake Taupo from Didymo and other pest. Wetsuits can very easily carry the Didymo disease and other pests picked up from other water ways around the world. Lake Taupo is currently Didymo free and with your support it can stay this way for many more years. With the support of the Department of Conservation all athletes must have their wetsuits dipped prior to registration.
The New Zealand Open Water Championships are being run under FINA Rules so wetsuits are not permitted in these races.
Revive & Restore Massage.
Once again in 2014 Revive and Restore Massage will be onsite to provide massages to competitors prior to and following races. The charge is $1 per minute. Massages can also be received at the Revive and Restory clinic on the Friday preceeding the Epic Swims. To make a reservations call Paulette on 07 377 0069.
